Deer Run-Welcome Back to School Newsletter (August 18, 2026)

Families park in a marked parking spot and walk their child to the front door. Families wait until the doors are opened and staff greet your child.

Families park in a marked parking spot and sign their child out on the dismissal clip board. PreK dismisses at the blue awning and Kindergarten, First and Second Grade dismiss from the gym doors.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Thursday, August 27th. The doors at Deer Run open at 8:45 a.m. and the school day begins at 9:00 a.m.

Breakfast and lunch are free for Deer Run students. Families have a choice of sending your child in with a home lunch or your child can choose a school lunch. There are typically 3 lunch choices each day.

Students can either eat breakfast at home or choose a school breakfast when they arrive at school.

Please do not send in any nut or peanut butter products. We have many students with life threatening allergies. Thank you for keeping all students safe.

Our classroom celebrations (i.e. birthday & holiday) will not include food sent from home or purchased from local stores.

Any food that is part of our celebrations will be provided through Sodexo, our food service provider.

*If you do not see a teacher name in your Parent Square or PowerSchool, your child is not fully registered to begin school. We are here to help you complete the registration process. Please call 203-468-3324 to make a registration appointment.
