Child Study Meetings

Jennifer Tripp, a Deer Run Educator leads her colleagues in our Child Study Meetings. Classroom teachers will bring a child up for a discussion if they have concerns about their learning in the following areas:

  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Social Emotional
  • Attendance

Educators create goals and learning plans for students. We monitor students' goals.

More information will be shared with families at our November conferences.

Professional Development

Our staff participated in professional development sessions and activities with the following focus areas. Our full day professional development sessions allow for our educators to learn alongside their colleagues.

School photos arrived at school today and will be sent out on Monday. Please check your child's backpack on Monday. All students will have a proof (even if you didn't order photos).

“Unpack Your Day” Conversation Prompt of the Week - Elementary

Each prompt is designed to be simple, reflective, and flexible to use any day of the week, promoting meaningful discussion about school, feelings, and experiences.

This year, prompts are aligned to VOG Attributes. Attribute descriptions for families & how questions are aligned (to be posted alongside weekly prompts):

Responsible Citizen
  • What it means: A responsible citizen is kind, respectful, and helpful. They follow rules that keep everyone safe and work to make their classroom, home, and community better.

Informed Thinker
  • What it means: An informed thinker loves to learn, ask questions, and discover new things. They use their curiosity to understand the world.

Goal-Directed & Resilient Individual
  • What it means: Someone who keeps trying, even when things are hard. They set goals, practice patience, and learn from mistakes instead of giving up.
